Online Support for registrants of the virtual Physio Rehab series at Bloom Integrative Health & Movement Centre (Tuesdays 7:30pm, Jan 18 - Feb 22, 2022)


Many changes occur to your body during pregnancy, which challenge your body and mind in many different ways. This may lead to pain and/or dysfunction, possibly limiting your mobility for labour and/or creating imbalances that persist postnatally including diastasis recti, core &/or pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, and more.

Join Sarah Trottier, PT for this 4-week physio rehab series where you will learn to connect to your body and learn pregnancy-specific exercises to help keep you moving during pregnancy, prepare for childbirth, and assist with recovery postnatally.

Various topics will be discussed and integrated through movement during this course:

  • Postural and bodily changes during pregnancy
  • Common symptoms of pregnancy, such as pelvic girdle pain, pelvic floor dysfunctions and Diastasis Recti Abdominus (DRA)
  • Pregnancy Myths
  • Pregnancy-specific exercises to prepare body for childbirth
  • Postpartum care
  • Breathwork

Recommended Equipment & Alternatives (if joining from home):

    • Yoga blocks x2
    • Yoga mat
    • Yoga tune-up ball or tennis ball (NOT a lacrosse ball)
    • Theraband (or something stretchy, such as tights) 
    • 5-10lbs weight/kettlebell (or something similar in weight, such as a bag of potatoes or detergent bottle) 
    • Dining room/foldable chair 
    • Bolster/pillows/wedge as needed

The instructors
Sarah Trottier
Through her work, Sarah realized early on in her career that she had an interest in pelvic health. She completed post graduate training in pelvic floor rehabilitation, which included courses to assess and treat many pelvic health conditions, such as bladder and bowel incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, chronic pelvic pain, painful intercourse, diastasis recti (or DRA), and many other related conditions. Sarah understands that pelvic floor issues may be a vulnerable topic, but believes that her compassionate, positive approach can help clients feel empowered in a comfortable and safe environment.
